Course Description

God is looking for leaders, for those who are willing to lay aside their own ambitions to do His will. The course looks at the difference between spiritual leadership and natural leadership and develops the qualities of both. Students will receive tools for self evaluation, as well as insights to apply both personally and in leadership positions.

The course consists of 8 sessions, each session including a video and corresponding course notes. After each session the student will complete a 15 question quiz. Each quiz must be completed before moving onto the next session.

Ā Session Overview

Session 1- God is Looking for Leaders

Jesus defined leadership as service, much different than the rest of the world. In this session we will look at what God requires of leaders in the Kingdom.

Session 2- Natural and Spiritual Leadership

Spiritual leadership is a blending of both natural gifts and spiritual gifts. This session will compare the two, as well examine scriptural qualifications for spiritual leaders.

Session 3- Leadership Qualities I

Are leaders born or made? What qualities make a leader? These are questions we will answer in this session.

Session 4- Leadership Qualities II

We will continue to look into leadership qualities; maybe some you hadn’t considered before, such as humor and tact. We will end by looking at the most important quality of spiritual leadership- being Spirit led.

Session 5- Essential Disciplines of Leadership

There are several disciplines needed for leadership that must be practiced and developed. We will cover a few of them in this session, such as prayer, managing time, and reading.

Session 6- Leadership: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

This session will look at the cost of leadership and some tests of leadership. We know that leadership is not easy, but we also know that Jesus is worth the cost!

Session 7- Responsibilities of the Leader

This session covers responsibilities of leadership including: discipline, delegation, and reproducing leaders. It is important for leaders to train up the next generation.

Session 8- Guard Your Heart

The word of God has much to say about our hearts, and the importance of guarding, purifying, and healing our hearts. A leader’s heart condition will impact their quality of leadership. Praise God that He has the power to create in us a clean heart!
